We use multi-million dollar computer controlled machines to produce spherical bearings, rod ends, sub-assemblies and other precision metal parts for the aerospace industry.

TOOLMAKER I

Occupational Summary:

The Toolmaker I performs required duties to plan, construct, alter and repair a wide variety of tools, jigs, fixtures and gauges to close tolerances.

Essential Functions:

  • Works from drawings, process sheets, tables, charts and/or written and verbal instructions.
  • Performs prototype work, difficult tool room machine operations, skilled fittings, timing and adjustments.
  • Draws own sketch, as well as construct, alter, repair, make tool tryouts, diagnose and correct trouble.
  • Maintain setup as well as machine lubrication points.
  • Sharpens own tooling.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, equipment, and tools of the trade.
  • Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
  • Maintain established production levels and quality standards.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and conform to OSHA regulations.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as necessary to maintain area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Perform other duties as directed or required.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED or HISET) is required.

Experience:

  • Prior manufacturing experience in a production shop is required.
  • Previous Toolmaking experience is required.
  • Experience with blueprints and precision measuring equipment is essential.

Job Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand complex written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction) and maintain an understanding of the decimal system.
  • Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization.
  • Good manual and concentrated visual attention dexterity skills.
  • Our positions require quality conscious candidates who are detail oriented and have a solid work history.
  • A mechanical aptitude.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team is a must.
  • All positions require successful completion of a pre-hire drug screen and background check.

Shift:

Hours for this position are 1st Shift (7:00 am to 3:30 pm)

Note: Physical job requirements may include:

The ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
