A finished seat can come off our line about every minute. Our production requirements are directly linked to our customer, as customer demand increases and decreases on a daily basis so does NHK Seat production requirements.
Director of Contract Management & Procurement Operations
As the Director of Contract Management and Procurement Operations, you will understand, develop, maintain, manage, and control all facets of contract formation, negotiation and administration of both future and ongoing contracts with reference to suppliers, vendors, and service providers. This position will provide technical guidance and oversight of the procurement functions to all levels of staff and management, as well as support the entire procurement life-cycle for all purchased goods and services. You will apply professional purchasing standards and organizational objectives to complete complex procurement and contracting assignments.

Responsibilities:
· Draft, review, and negotiate major, complex, and/or non-standard contracts with key and necessary suppliers.
· Interface/communicate with various internal groups to understand key requirements and ensure contract terms comply with corporate directives, policies, and procedures.
· Interface/communicate and negotiate with executive level agents of suppliers and business partners.
· Insure adherence to existing contracts, key requirements, and compliance with contract terms.
· Analyze existing contracts for supplier’s compliance.
· Negotiation of future contract terms, requirements, and timing.
· Direct management of key suppliers with a focus on quality, cost, on-time fulfillment.
· Identification and management of key suppliers who may be qualified for a preferred supplier relationship.
· Serve as subject matter expert in procurement and contracting, and develop standards for legally binding agreements, contracts, policies, and procedures.
· Provide subject matter expertise, analysis, advice, recommendations, training, and guidance to staff and management on contractual, supply chain, and procurement related issues.
· Communicate and implement contractual risk mitigation, action plans, and improvements.
· Foster and collaborative environment for key business stakeholders and key suppliers.
· Nurture development of key team members.
Candidate Experience and Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
· Master’s Degree in related field or MBA preferred.
· Minimum 15 years overall experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, and/or contract management.
· Minimum 10 years automotive industry experience (Tier 1 or OEM preferred).
· Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in related field.
· Strong contractual acumen including an emphasis on contract law.
· Advanced knowledge and experience within purchasing/contracting functions.
· Excellent oral and written communication capability.
· Outstanding organizational and aggregate task abilities.
· Strong negotiation skills and adaptability.
· Six-sigma and/or lean manufacturing training, certification preferred.
· Conceptual knowledge of Japanese automotive production, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
· Distinct understanding of just-in-time manufacturing methodology and procedures.
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
