Job Description
This is a hybrid position and will require at least one day a week at the office in Austin, TX 78704.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
In this role of an Email Security Administrator, you will be protecting the organization from the highest security vulnerability (phishing), and maintaining, configuring, developing, and implementing security tools, software, and processes. You will be responsible for testing, reviewing, and implementing related security architecture and remediating incidents within hours of occurrence. You will also be responsible for planning, developing, and documenting processes while interacting with a variety of teams across our organization. You are comfortable with ambiguity and thinking outside of the box!
Main Deliverables
- Gateway-based and cloud-oriented Email security administration, inspection, configuration, maintenance, and remediation
- Creating, blocking, or enabling access via SPF, DKIM, ARC, and other e-mail settings.
- Phishing and spam incident remediation through our easy-to-use platform
- Access disabling for compromised accounts
- General Windows email administration, not including e-mail groups
- General Gmail email administration for students in a mature, settled environment
- Testing of new anti-phishing software and e-mail providers (full Gmail vs full Windows)
- Some Google Workspace / Google Admin issue resolution will be necessary
- Response to “open records requests” regarding e-mails via our archiving system
Education
None required.
Experience and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of work experience and sufficiently skilled and demonstrated/demonstrable expertise in email infosecurity.
- Preferred certifications are OSCP, AWS Architect, AWS Security, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE
- Understanding of Windows (Office 365), gateway-based e-mail security (Barracuda, etc.), API-based e-mail security (Gmail) and related security.
- Understanding of Active Directory, AWS, Azure and related security.
- Capability for anti-phishing software administration, installation, and configuration.
- Capability for infosecurity incident response and containment.
- Understanding of infosecurity laws, standards, requirements, and frameworks such as NIST guidance, CIS controls and benchmarks, PCI-DSS, FERPA, HIPAA, SOC-1, etc.
- Critical thinking, independent work ethic, and little supervision necessary for tasks
- Able to commit for 12-18 months.
- Professional cooperation and the ability to work in-office or remotely
Salary : $55 - $65
