Full Job Description: Residential Leasing Agent
This full-time position of Residential Property Manager will be involved with managing a portfolio of multi-family properties out of a site office in Peoria, IL, fully supported by a local main office also in Peoria.
This position will be responsible for independent decision-making for day-to-day activities of bookkeeping, direction of maintenance, daily communications to tenants and outside vendors, reviewing and updating apartment listings and advertisements, showing apartment units to prospective tenants and assisting with application gathering and processing, rent collection, lease renewals, updates and following owner directives, and maintaining complete records of projects. The Residential Leasing Agent will also work closely to coordinate and obtain guidance from nhs Property Management company leadership for possible staff hiring, owner/tenant communications or conflict resolution, capital project approval and planning, financial reporting, operating budget setting. There is also a standard and expectation at nhs to work collaboratively with Property Managers and Residential Leasing Agents throughout the company to find the right home for each guest and strive to meet owner objectives. Requirements:
- Residential Leasing Agent’s license in Illinois (or will obtain within 90 days of start of employment)
- Demonstrated history of outstanding organizational skills, time management, professionalism, and communication ability (written and verbal)
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
- Self-starter who is goal-oriented and able to bring forward new initiatives and prioritize activities when time is limited
Desirable:
- Knowledge of financial reporting, cash flow analysis, budgeting
- College classes or a degree in relevant field (communications, bookkeeping/accounting, business)
- Prior experience in residential property management
- Knowledge of property management software (Appfolio, Yardi, etc)
- Building systems basic knowledge (vocabulary of roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, building structural components)
