Applications are invited for the temporary part time position of Divisional Support Officer within the School of Business & Environment at Niagara College located at the Daniel J.

Patterson campus. The starting salary is $24.32 / hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

This is a temporary position and is set to commence March 2024 to November 2024.

Reporting to the Dean of Business & Environment, the successful candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the division.

This position involves providing support to faculty, students, and support staff, serving as a point of contact in the Dean’s Office.

Additionally, the Divisional Support Officer coordinates with the Administrative Assistants within the division and contributes to special projects assigned by the Dean or Academic Business Manager.

  • Collaborate with the Dean’s Administrative Assistant to establish and maintain a purchasing tracking system.
  • Work closely with the Academic Business Manager to monitor and track capital expenditures within the division.
  • Assist the Academic Business Manager in preparing monthly budget reports and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Develop efficient tracking tools and maintain records for all part-time faculty members within the division. Create a centralized repository for part-time faculty credentials and contact information.
  • Provide backup support within the School of Environment & Horticulture and the School of Business & Management, covering administrative duties such as payroll management, contract entry, handling ITS tickets, and front desk support.
  • Provide support for divisional special events such as Student Appreciation Day, Open House, and divisional staff meetings.
  • Support the Dean’s assistant in coordinating Program Advisory Committees. Assist with employer engagement and meeting coordination.

Qualifications :

  • Two (2) year diploma / degree in Office Administration Executive, Business Administration, or a similar field of study.
  • Three (3) years of experience in office administration in an educational, government or large business environment.
  • Exceptional time management, critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Proven abilities in working independently, exercising initiative and good judgement, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point).
  • Experience with Oracle systems such as PeopleSoft, Blackboard, and Salesforce systems.

We also provide a balance of on-campus and remote work through our recently introduced Remote Work Policy. As a place-based organization all positions will involve some degree of on campus work.
