Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate 2- Picker performs a number of tasks in the assembly area supporting internal and external customer requirements. Tasks include but are not limited to repetitive and moderately complex rework, product testing, block coding, and inspection processes. In general, the Shipping and Receiving Associate 2- Picker is responsible for organizing, managing and the accurate monitoring of storage and distribution of Nortek Security and Control (NSC) products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading product in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner
- Moving product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate area
- Maneuvering a forklift and/or pallet jack through limited space areas; verifying counts and products shipped/received
- Picking orders for shipment
- Processing domestic and international small parcel and LTL shipments on shipping systems for all carriers.
- Operating specific material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
- Checking or counting products for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
- Operating radio frequency terminals to ensure accurate local inventories
- Picking and entering correct data to properly create advance shipment notifications for customers as required
- Will be required to manually case pick orders using a walkie rider or a order picker on a frequent basis
- Maintains an attitude which consistently represents the organizational culture, including: the mission, vision, and core attributes
- Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager
- Understand, support, and execute all work in a safe manner using the established procedures, methods and safe working requirements
- Implements and maintains department policies and standards
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one (1) year related experience involved in performing work in a warehouse
- Forklift Certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop
- Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands
