Job Summary:
The Claims/Insurance Specialist plays a vital role in our organization as the liaison between practice, patient, and insurance. As the Claims Specialist you create and represent the lasting impression of our Practice and are integral to the growth and success of our organization.
The Claims/Insurance Specialist supports the Practice by processing and submitting patient claims daily. As detail-oriented professionals, the Claims/Insurance Specialist team monitors, records, and follows through on outstanding claims. This includes the identification of scheduled patients with financial concerns and notates financial conversations within the patient file. Ensuring accurate information is conveyed to other aspects of patient care including care providers, other insurance coordinators, and leadership members.

Excellent time management skills to maintain quality and efficiency in a high-volume environment. Strong organizational skills to ensure a timely filing, processing, and collection of insurance claims. The ability to assess and prioritize tasks.
Consistent, positive, service oriented verbal skills, utilizing best practices to build, establish, and maintain business relations with insurance providers. Ability to familiarize with insurance plans to understand the various nuances to communicate more effectively. Clerical skills performed accurately, ensuring the distribution of records to relevant parties, managing billing information, collection of payments, and accurately posting insurance claims for patients.
Success Factors:
- Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
- Consistent and accurate documentation of insurance information for quick reference
- Timely fulfillment of insurance requests, including x-rays, charting, narratives, and other documentation for processing claims when applicable.
- Regular correspondence with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied treatment coverage.
- Running monthly accounts receivable reports to ensure the timely processing of insurance claims
- Must demonstrate good reading comprehension by understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey information effectively.
