Nightforce Optics is looking for a highly skilled Project Coordinator to join our team. We are searching for a critical thinker who is resourceful, and reliable. The ideal candidate will create and maintain project schedules, ensure New Product Development (NPD) documents are completed, identify and mitigate risks to project schedules. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will be detail-oriented and a collaborative team leader, who is efficient and timely with their projects.
What you will be doing: Essential Job Duties
Project Management
- Creates detailed project schedules using inputs for the cross-functional NPD team
- Acts as the primary point of contact for project status for all project participants
- Builds collaborative relationships with all NPD team members and builds communication bridges to facilitate teamwork and effective project completion
- Leads recurring team meetings to aid in team communication, ensuring critical path tasks are visible and timeline expectations are clear
- Ensures supporting NPD documents are completed and maintained by the NPD team
- Anticipates risk to project schedules by evaluating the critical path of tasks and team resources
- Identifies risk mitigation methods to help the NPD team reduce schedule risk and overall project length
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional departments to develop business processes, create workflows, and automate manual work
- Assists with maintaining high standards of solution quality within the team by establishing best practices
- Continuously reviews and makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness of internal processes, tools, and systems
Smartsheet Administration
- Constantly training and learning to maintain status as the in-house expert on the Smartsheet Project Management system
- Maintains access controls and trains new employees on how to use Smartsheet and the NPD Shared Drive
- With direction from the Director of Marketing and Product Management, helps other areas of the business incorporate Smartsheet to increase their effectiveness
What we need from you: Required Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 3 years of project coordination experience including managing the schedule, resources, and costs of multiple projects simultaneously from concept to launch
- Working knowledge of the engineering design process and application to technical product development
- Ability to understand mechanical systems and the software development cycle
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management software (MS Project, SmartSheet, or similar)
- Ability to evaluate, review, and create workflows
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate project risk and propose solutions to mitigate risk
- Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work with minimal oversight
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A positive attitude and high level of self-motivation
- A high regard for confidentiality
