We are on the lookout for a few highly skilled Paint and Body Technicians for our Class 8 Heavy-Duty trucks. In this role, you'll inspect, prepare, blend and finish vehicle surfaces of Prototype class 8 trucks and the Nikola Tre. Candidates must have prior experience in Automotive Paint Application and/or Body Repair.
You will:
- Work with Advanced Manufacturing teams to perform paint and body repair
- Need to perform blends on custom paint
- Perform small dent and scratch rectification
- Body soft touch repair is a plus
- Work in a clean environment and maintain a clean work space
- Have the ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process
- Need to have vision abilities including close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ensure that each product has a quality finish
- Have effective use of time management while prioritizing your workload
- Demonstrate the ability to perform standardized work processes and defined work instructions
- Work with our specialized tooling systems and use various painting techniques
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You’ll need:
- Minimum (5) five years’ experience in Automotive Paint Application or Automotive Painting experience
- Previous expertise in class-8 alt-fuel environment is a plus
- The ability to follow directions while being a self-starter
- Effective oral and written communication
- Manual dexterity for repetitive-motion tasks
- Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift, etc.
- Comprehension of and adherence to safety & policy practices
- Must be able to travel abroad for specialized training
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
