JOB SUMMARY

Nina’s Child Care founded in 2002 has served over 45 families and over 100 children in the past 20 years in the
San Joaquin area. As our program has expanded from a Family Daycare to a Child Care Center, we are looking for a qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher Aide to join our Early Learning and Child Care Facility. At Nina’s Early
Learning & Child Care Center, we have three programs: Infant, Toddler and Preschool. We strive to provide children, families, and staff with a caring and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for children and partnering with parents and families to help individual children reach their developmental milestones.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ An aide shall work under the direct supervision of the director, the assistant director, or a fully qualified teacher

▪ Shall participate in the on-the-job training programs provided by the center’s licensee.
▪ Shall provide direct care and supervision to children.
▪ Maintain the correct ratio to children in attendance.
▪ Participate in physical activities with children which involve lifting, bending, carrying, twisting, stooping, puling, etc.
▪ Lifting, carrying, diapering, changing, feeding, and cleaning of children.

Responsibilities include:

▪ Meeting the daily needs of children.
▪ Providing individual attention to each individual child in care.
▪ Work closely with Center Director and Supervising teacher to creating activities that promote child development in all the areas needed.
▪ Responsible as Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse and Neglect. Accordingly follows procedures for reporting known or suspected child abuse and neglect.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications of teacher aide:

▪ Must be 18 years of age or older.
▪ Must successfully clear criminal background without exemption.
▪ Submit completed shot record, including TB test and influenzas shots.
▪ Possesses a regional occupation program certificate of training in child care occupations issued by a regional occupational program.
▪ A photocopy of the teachers Child Development Permit as specified below, or a photocopy of the teacher's transcript(s) documenting successful completion of required course work.
▪ Teacher shall complete 16 hours of health and safety training if necessary pursuant to Health and

Safety Code Section 1596.866.
▪ Must have CA AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate

To be an infant/toddler teacher aide, a teacher shall have the following:

▪ High school diploma or GED
▪ Completed a teaching training program and earned a professional certificate, or have an associate degree in ECE
▪ 6 units in ECE/Child Development
▪ 1-year experienced working in a child care setting (preferred)

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED

▪ Must have knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
▪ Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with families and staff.
▪ Must be self-motivated and able to work with a minimum supervision.
▪ Must be dedicated to the goals and philosophy of the program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

▪ Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
▪ Must be able to bend, squat, reach, kneel, and climb stairs.
▪ Must be able to sit, stand, walk, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
▪ Must be able to join active play with children.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

▪ Fingerprint Clearance
▪ Health Screening
▪ Immunization Records of Pertussis/MMR
▪ TB Clearance

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
