Job Description
Australia’s largest news, sport and entertainment network, is looking for a digital journalist to help drive the digital output for 9Honey.
The digital producer is based out of Sydney, working in the 9Honey digital team alongside the digital news, video and social media teams. This is a crucial role that drives the weekend site content, ensuring all is in line with the 9Honey brand values.
Day to day you will:
- Lead the site on weekends
- Generate content for the site as well as assigning and editing stories and editing other journalist’s copy
- Generate headlines and social media sells
- Generate original story ideas, research and write original content and curate content for the site and social media platforms
- Source images, video and other attributes needed for on site and in social media
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail are required.
Please note this position is Wednesday to Sunday.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you will be energetic, engaged and keen to prove themselves in a busy newsroom environment. You must also be passionate about women’s lifestyle.
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Previous experience writing for digital audiences
- Demonstrated writing skills essential, with proven ability to produce clear compelling copy
- Ability to source original news and feature stories
- Ability to make decisions quickly and decisively when it comes to breaking news
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, grammar and syntax
- Strong digital platform skills and a working understanding of all social media platforms
- An understanding of legal best practice, including defamation laws is ideal
