Job Description
This is a unique opportunity for an Accounts Assistant or recent Graduate to join the Finance team that supports Nine’s Television Broadcast business. This highly collaborative and supportive team helps to shape the financial future of Australia’s leading broadcast network, and ensures Nine can continue to deliver content that connects with millions of Australians each day.

You will get exposure across a broad range of finance areas, with a focus on reporting and sales for the TV team. Responsibilities will include:
- Month end duties - general journals, processing of intercompany transactions, cost ledger reviews
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Clearing account reconciliations and allocation journals
- Assist in preparation of monthly departmental cost reports and completing the supporting cost trackers
- Assist in preparation of annual departmental budgets and monthly forecasting including salary costs, direct costs and internal recharges
- Financial year end and half year end requirements including audit support documents
- Sales production, Commercial production & research client billings, costs allocations and reconciliations including liaison with business unit owners
- Administration support including vendor invoice coding & checking, finance system user support and queries
Qualifications
You will have some experience in finance/accounting roles under your belt - either in part time jobs or internships during your studies, or in a recent Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or Audit role. You will have developed a good understanding of balance sheets, reconciliations, general ledgers, and P&Ls, and be capable of working in a large and complex business environment.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and pride yourself on your attention to detail. You have demonstrated your ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced, ever-changing, deadline driven environment, and are motivated by opportunities for continual learning and development.
Here’s what we would like you to bring:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance
- Some experience in a Financial or Accounting role
- Self-motivation and initiative
- The ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
Media industry experience is not essential, although it would be extremely beneficial. As would skills in Excel (advanced), D365 and TM1.
