About the role
In your role as Financial Accountant for Nine Digital, you will be given a platform to voice and test new ideas that could shape the financial future of some of the most recognised & trusted brands in Australia; SMH, AFR, The Age and many more...
Working alongside an experienced, passionate and engaged leadership team, who live and breathe the space - you will play a critical role in partnering with them to deliver timely and accurate financial results and insights, that directly influence key strategic decisions within your business unit and potentially other functions of the business.
As a Financial Accountant at Nine you will:
- Be responsible for expenses accruals, revenue postings and revenue shares and associated balance sheet reconciliations to be completed with supporting documents. Includes internal and external reporting eg) Market Share, Revenue Share Reporting
- Be responsible for opex areas within the Nine Digital business which will involve monthly reporting and analysis, monthly forecasting and completing the annual budgets.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations and Accounts Receivable to improve systems and revenue/billing process
- Assist in the preparation of year end reporting to Group and pulling together information for the half year, interim and year end audits
- Provide guidance to junior team members and assist with training and trouble-shooting

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact with and influence diverse groups of people, from executive level to junior members of the business. You pride yourself on your attention to detail and your ability to juggle multiple priorities in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
Here’s what we would like to see on your resume:
- A Degree in Accounting/Finance or Diploma or Certificate in Accounting
- CA/CPA qualification, or studying towards
- 2-3 years experience in a Finance role
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience working in Media or a similar industry whilst not essential would be an advantage
- Experience as an internal or external Auditor is desirable and will be highly regarded
