Position Overview
Your new opportunity at Nine.
The Group Payroll Team works in partnership with all divisions of Nine to comply with all relevant employee legislation and regulations applicable for the Media industry.
As a Payroll Officer of this team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day processing and timely and accurate payment of salary and wages to employees across the employing entities within the Group. You are the first line of support to employees, and various teams which include People Culture and Finance. Responding to issues in a timely manner is critical in this role to ensure a positive user experience across the Nine Group.
The role is for a fixed term until 31 March 2023.
Day to day you will:
- Process high volume payroll transactions including pay runs, calculations and timesheet award interpretations.
- Process large volumes of end-to-end new employee's contracts, terminations and relevant employment changes.
- Undertake leave reconciliations including annual leave, long service leave and sick leave.
- Provide exceptional customer service resolving payroll queries relating to awards, policies, superannuation, and taxation.
- Manage and maintain employee and payroll documentation and records in line with audit and reporting obligations.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant awards / legislative instruments and legislation.
Qualifications
You will have the ability to work in a busy environment and process large volumes of work while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy and service.
You will be a strong team player with the ability to multitask and problem solve. You will have a strong customer focus and have the ability to provide high-quality, accurate, and responsive customer service. You will be an excellent communicator and have solid numerical and Microsoft Excel skills.
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Previous experience (ideally minimum 1 year) in a busy payroll department using Chris21 is required
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of awards, superannuation, taxation, payroll and employment law.
- Knowledge and experience in the media industry is highly desired.
- Time Target (HumanForce) Time and Attendance experience highly desired.
