Responsibilities

The Sr. Account Executive will be responsible for growing Nippon Express USA’s business.  Achieve revenue targets by securing business with new global customers and selling additional services to current customers.

  • Responsible for new business development – air, ocean, logistics services warehousing/distribution.
  • Expected to make between 10-15 direct customer sales calls per week
  • Responsible for managing a customer list of 30-35 target accounts (existing/potential accounts)
  • Assigned quarterly and annual revenue targets to include overall territory target and individual account targets
  • Responsible for developing strong client relationships with focus on immediate and long-term business opportunities
  • Work closely with CS/Operational staff on business implementation, account management and overall account support
  • Revenue Responsibility – AE has a 100% Revenue Responsibility

Sales Activity Expectations:

  • Established Annual Revenue Target
  • Weekly Sales Expectations – active sales 4 days per week (10-15 calls per week)
  • Update Prospect Management Account list on a weekly basis
  • New Business reported and maintained on a monthly basis
  • Attend and report sales activity on a weekly basis via direct meeting or conference call

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in marketing, business administration or economics.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Sales and marketing in the freight forwarding/logistics business.
  • Minimum 2 years direct client selling.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operators license. Willingness to travel extensively in branch territory.
  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage a dynamic sales territory and account base
  • Strong time management skills – setting appointment, territory management, meeting preparation/follow-up etc.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to conduct Sr. Level corporate meetings and executive presentations.
  • Strong Self-motivation and strategic focus, ability to quickly identify key decision makers and opportunities.
  • Ability to close business, clearly identify short and long-term global opportunities within existing account base,
  • Strong teamwork skills and inclination
  • High level negotiating skills, ability to negotiate global contracts and processes.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Will work with all levels in the organization and Customers.
