Senior Cost Estimator:
NIRA Inc, a fast-growing women-owned small business, is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to support FAA senior managers and provide estimating support for a major FAA program working to achieve investment decisions (IARD, IID and FID).The individual needs to demonstrate the ability to work within a team to resolve issues and present solutions to senior leadership. This position requires strong analytical skills, thorough understanding of financial and project management aspects, ability to collect and combine information from multiple sources to create a comprehensive picture of the project and collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities include:
Work with the FAA Program Office, FAA Joint Resources Council (JRC) and Investment Planning & Analysis (IP&A) team to prepare required cost models and cost estimates required for investment decisions and future acquisitions;
Prepare a complete range of cost analysis and cost management services that include, but are not limited to, program cost and price analysis, cost planning, budget development, detailed cost estimating through the planning and execution phases, and data management to support the group manager and the program managers to make informed decisions;
Provide inputs for various briefings and data calls.
Qualifications:
At least 9 years of relevant work experience;
FAA JRC and IP&A experience is a must;
Knowledge of cost models;
Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to organize and manage complex cost reports; high-level proficiency with spreadsheets, reports, and other cost estimating software;
Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize assignments and workload, execute tasks, and meet deadlines;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing;
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment;
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance;
Must be living in the US three out of the last five years;
Local in the DMV area;
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related disciplines is required.
