SUMMARY 

Supervises and coordinates activities of production associates by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.  

 

Studies production schedules and estimates associate hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

 

Administers company policies and safety regulations to associates.

 

Administers specifications, blueprints, and job orders to associates, and assigns duties.

 

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

 

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

 

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

 

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists associates in solving work problems.

 

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals.

 

Evaluates hourly employees on performance on annual and new hire reviews.  

 

Maintains time and production records.

 

Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.

 

Evaluates and recommends training and disciplinary actions for hourly associates.  

 

Confers with other coordinators to coordinate activities of individual departments.

 

Must be able to work overtime.  

2nd and 3rd shift Manufacturing Coordinators are the designated QA Representatives for their shift. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Directly supervises up to 150 employees in the Production Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associates Degree (A.A.) with five plus years of manufacturing experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with up to 1 year manufacturing experience. Must have a minimum of one year of prior supervisory experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  This position requires a sighted individual.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.   The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary : $67,600 - $85,500
