**We are looking to hire someone to work in either our Columbus, Ohio or Merrillville, Indiana office on a hybrid schedule (2x/week in office) **
Job Summary
The Director of Business Continuity plays a crucial enterprise leadership role that ensures the resilience and continuation of operations within the organization. This role includes setting the strategy for this function to ensure it aligns with best practices, developing and implementing business continuity plans, conducting risk assessments, and developing and coordinating strategic initiatives to ensure that emergency response structures for the organization are optimized. The Director helps the company proactively mitigate potential disruptions and safeguards operations to help ensure the long-term success and stability of the organization.
This role also leads enterprise-wide contingency planning at all levels of the organization to support and improve capabilities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruption. The Director is charged with establishing a framework and methodology for completion of contingency plans by internal business units, coordinating training, communication, and testing of opportunities for improvement and serves as the subject matter expert on business continuity risk management matters by developing and maintaining strong relationships with business units, peers, and senior management.
Essential Functions-
Strategically lead an enterprise-wide business continuity function in the company for impact at all levels of the organization.
Oversee and maintain enterprise-wide business continuity framework to ensure the program remains current, adequately identifies risks, and meets regulatory requirements. Assist business partners with identifying, mitigating, and managing risks, including unique single points of failure that could cause an extended business disruption. Support business impact analysis and assist business units in determining level of criticality of processes, acceptable recovery time periods, and required resources. Design, facilitate, and implement training and awareness programs on business continuity related concepts.
Provide leadership support during crisis events; tracking completion of action plans; developing and distributing status updates; managing activation of recovery strategies; and creating post-incident reports. Ensure coordination of planning, testing, and response activities between crisis management, information technology, and information security.
Liaise with Information Technology (IT) to ensure disaster recovery plans are properly documented, maintained and tested. Coordinate with Supply Chain and Risk Management to further assess business resilience of third parties that are critical to operations.
Oversee the testing of documented business continuity and crisis management plans to provide reasonable assurances of effectiveness. Work with business units and IT to ensure testing for critical systems, including third party systems to ensure that appropriate strategies are in place to respond to, restore, and minimize disruption to in-house and outsourced critical technology systems. Document testing activities and analyze testing results and ensure business lines remediate exceptions and incorporate lessons learned.
Administer ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Practices. Proactively work to improve the quality, streamline processes and gain efficiencies. Validate and monitor gaps identified during audits, exercises, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring to support adherence to Business Continuity Policy. Lead business lines on best practices in the development of their business continuity plans.
Administer emergency notification system, including user access, training, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, data validation, and generation of emergency notifications, as required.
Provide oversight and project management for any continual improvement projects identified in After Action Plans.
Oversee business continuity risk assessments, analyze the results and business impact analyses to drive and adjust business continuity documentation and processes to ensure continuous improvement; and manage, monitor and report identified risks as needed.
Prepare and deliver periodic presentations to the Executive Leadership Team, and any appropriate committees on the status of the Business Continuity Program, identified risks, and results of testing
Define metrics and measures for external reporting and internal continuous improvement initiatives. Report on Business Resilience metrics and measures to relevant business units and stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical business functions and systems.
Coordinate and facilitate regular training and awareness programs to enhance preparedness and response capabilities. Conduct regular exercises and simulations to assess the effectiveness of business continuity plans and identify areas for improvement.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels and protocols to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information during a crisis or disruption.
Leads diverse team of qualified individuals with authority to hire, terminate, promote, demote, coach, develop and performance management
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's Degree in a business or information technology related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in business continuity management or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
4-6 years Experience in developing and implementing business continuity plans and strategies within a complex organizational structure.
4-6 years Experience in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses.
Strong knowledge of business continuity management principles, methodologies, and best practices. High

Certified Business Continuity Planner or higher within 1 Year of employment
