NEEDED: Medical Assistant
LOCATION: 846 NE 54th Terrace Coleman, Florida 33521
SCHEDULE:
- Monday – Friday (except federal holidays), 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week,
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- US CITIZEN – we do not sponsor work visas
- Shall be a graduate of Medical Assistant Programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) that passed the exam CMA (AAMA)® Certification and have credentials in the field.
- Must provide proof of experience of at least six (6) months as an MA.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Shall provide a resume and requested documentation along with copy of all diplomas and/or certificates to support stated qualification.
- Three (3) letters of reference must be provided with resume.
DUTIES:
- Blood specimen collection, packaging, and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records. (Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens).
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
- Preparing patients for examinations
- Assisting the physician during examinations
- Performing basic laboratory tests under CLIA regulations.
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Medical orders such as taking electrocardiograms, wound care and changing dressings, obtain vitals, fecal occult testing, rapid and PCR test such as COVID, HIV, etc.
- Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to), answering telephones, welcoming patients, updating and filing patient medical records, coding and filling out BOP forms, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admissions (medical paperwork for trip) and laboratory services; handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping as determined by Health Services policies and Health Services Administrator.
