Position Responsibilities
Nitsch Engineering is looking for a dynamic Highway/Transportation Design Engineer with 4-10 years of hands-on practical Highway/transportation engineering experience to join our team in the Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence Offices. This position has great potential for learning, growth, and the ability to establish client contacts. In this role, you will:
· Perform roadway and highway design and drainage/utility design
· Prepare construction phasing and traffic management plans
· Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates for intersections and roadways
In this position, projects will vary between Highway/Interchange improvements, roadway/streets/arterials reconstruction, or intersection safety improvements.

Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess good writing and communication skills, be able and willing to make public presentations, and be capable of multitasking. Proficiency in using engineering software and AutoCAD (Civil 3D) is also required. It will be advantageous for the candidate to have prior design experience with projects for MassDOT, Municipalities, and private clients. A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field with at least 4 years of related project experience is required. Professional Engineer license or an EIT and the ability to obtain a PE license within two years of employment is also required.
