Transportation Engineer

Nitsch Engineering is looking for a Highway/Transportation Engineer with 4-8 years of hands-on practical highway/transportation engineering experience to join our team in the Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence Offices. This position has great potential for learning, growth, and the ability to establish client contacts.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform roadway and highway design and drainage/utility design
• Prepare complex construction phasing and traffic management plans
• Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates for intersections, roadways, and multi-modal facilities
• Use standard engineering formulas to create calculations for roadway design, utility and drainage design
• Assist the Project Manager/Technical Manager/Senior Project Engineer with coordinating technical design tasks
  

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• Massachusetts Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain one within one year if currently licensed in another state
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the preparation of transportation design documents
• Advanced understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and specialized design programs
• Advanced knowledge of highway/transportation engineering design and construction standards
• Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and codes applicable to highway and traffic design and ability to research non-routine issues
• Experience assisting with construction administration, preferred
