Niyam is seeking an Application Developer Level II to join our team in Fairfax, VA in support of our work with DHS - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). We offer competitive compensation and benefits. Position can be performed remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic and may require some on-site work after restrictions are lifted.
Qualified candidates must be able to supply proof of US Citizenship and be eligible to receive a DHS Public Trust Clearance.
Job Responsibilities:
As part of the Risk MAP CDS Infrastructure Team that maintains and manages multiple environments, applications, and tools for the FEMA Risk MAP program:
Maintain, manage, and upgrade the Risk MAP environment based upon the needs of the client
Design and build modernized applications through knowledge of various migration and modernization tools
Ability to install, configure, and optimize as per engagement requirement
Knowledge on application code refactoring (semantic and syntactical change)
Knowledge on creating/working with microservices
Knowledge of RESTful APIs
Knowledge of containerization
Work within the Agile framework to support several Agile Teams for development, communication, and security objectives
Must Have:
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
3 years of experience developing front-end applications using Angular and React
3 years of experience developing and maintaining cloud-native applications using Java, Node.JS or similar language
2 years of experience working with design system libraries such as USWDS or Material, and experience working with GitLab and/or GitHub
2 years of experience working on an Agile team
Experience in software development fundamentals and assets
Experience working with HTML, CSS, and JS
Experience working with federal clients
Proficient experience using Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Resourcefulness, problem-solving, and good communication and documentation skills
Associate's Degree or higher and/or 5-10 years of experience
Nice to Have:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
Adobe XD experience
Design experience
