Summary:
The Risk Management Analyst position supports a broad range of Risk Management & Insurance initiatives and objectives. This position is to assist the Director of Risk Management with the initiatives being undertaken by NJ TRANSIT, to help implement risk management projects, address insurance related matters, and to assist risk management’s analysis and input with regard to reviews and responses to Procurement, Capital Programs, Real Estate, and other department special project requests.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports a broad range of Risk Management and Insurance initiatives and objectives
- Collaborates with and provides Risk Management services to various business units (i.e. Real Estate, Procurement, Capital Programs...)
- Assists in the annual insurance renewal to procure commercial insurance for the corporation
- Manages and assists with the certificate of insurance request process
- Assists in various insurance and indemnification clauses in documents to ensure NJ TRANSIT’s assets are properly protected when contracting with third parties, including the review of certificates of insurance.
- Assists with contracts regarding insurance and indemnification issues between third parties, including other railroads, commercial tenants, municipalities, contractors, and other transportation agencies.
- Prepares reports and maintain records for Risk Management projects/matters
- Assists with Risk Management and Insurance claims for the corporation.
- Effectively communicates with insurance broker(s), vendors, insurers, and NJ TRANSIT employees in a timely and professional manner.

Assists Director with Risk Management and other special assignments as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in the field of Risk Management, Finance, or related area and three (3) or more years’ experience in Risk Management, Insurance, or Claims required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and strong analytical skills required.
- Highly skilled in prioritizing and multitasking.
- Knowledge and experience related to Risk Management, Insurance, or Claims.
- Must be a team player with enthusiasm for Risk Management and Insurance.
