The successful candidate will work with a team of highly motivated professionals who are passionate about developing and executing forward-thinking solutions to support New Jersey companies working in the innovation based entrepreneurial space. The successful candidate will perform duties that will assist CSIT with the implementation of various grant and educational programs.
$51,138 - $56,820
Note:
The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the EDA CRM system to ensure that applicants to the various program are entered into CRM as contacts with all required information fields.
- Review various applications with CSIT and EDA for various grant programs and prepare notification of missing documentation to applicants. Follow up with applicants to complete their submission packages.
- Upload missing documentation from applicants into CRM
- Perform research to assist with the development of new program concepts including various seed grants and Innovation Districts
- Update the CSIT website with content as new initiatives are developed
- Develop content and coordinate with others in CSIT on the quarterly CSIT innovates newsletter
- Prepare slide decks for various CSIT program informational webinars and coordinate with EDA communications on event logistics
- Prepare data on applicant demographics for use in analyzing program effectiveness and DEI metrics
- Follow up with applicants on annual reporting requirements
- Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
- Must complete annual and semiannual self-assessment as required.
- Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications

- Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must use good judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective works methods and tools in order to meet time deadlines and have the ability to prioritize tasks & functions effectively under pressure
- Must be process orientated and have good process improvement skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff
- Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints with little or no supervision
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff
- Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Associates degree and/or equivalent professional experience
- Two to five years’ experience in business office environment;
Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Travel
- As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.
Certificates and Licenses Required
- License: Staff are required to possess a valid driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position
