Job Duties
- Manage Safety Program, ensuring a safe work environment and that safe work practices and procedures are clearly understood and consistently followed by all employees
- Supervises Turn Supervisors and hourly employees in production
- Ensure that workforce is adequately trained/developed in order to meet demanding performance requirements, by following Standard Operating Procedures. Audit same to ensure compliance.
- Provide communication link between Management and Employees. Ensure that information is communicated as needed. Ensure that Employee issues/concerns are heard and addressed.
- Complete required reports and correspondence, and communicate key issues to other Supervisors as needed
- Maintain a coherent, unified workforce, and address attendance/conduct issues
- Work to reduce process variation and eliminate waste
- Inspect product quality and advise operators to make adjustments to line
- Review coil schedule line-ups to ensure correct running order
- Coordinate repair activates with maintenance department
- Disposition coils
- Add coil routing steps and reworks
- Generate weekly schedules for hourly personnel. Responsible for filling the area’s overtime
- Coordinate Vacation days, Floating Holidays, and trades
- Monitor, analyze, and improve process using SEI system
- Manage and coordinate activities for housekeeping and 6S system
- Manage operating supplies and operating tools
- Monitor and coordinate coil inventory with Shipping Manager/Production Planning
- Work with HR department to monitor employee attendance and administer discipline as required
- Complete crew deviations reports
- Coordinate training and evaluate probationary employees
- Must be available to take calls off hours and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products & Oracle
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- High initiative, high energy, self-driven individual
- Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and plan effectively
- Previous experience in Steel Galvanizing
- Experience in working in a Union environment
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University (Engineering or Business degree is preferred.)
