Responsibilities
Our Behavioral Analytics team supports a wide variety of federal agency client needs focused on detecting fraudulent electronic transactions/usage. Team members will work collaboratively with the Noblis data analytics architects and data scientists to design and implement an offline and near real time analytics capability, visualization and a near real-time dash boarding and visualization capabilities to support Federal Agencies in strengthening their security posture against fraudulent web transactions to support Federal Agencies in strengthening their security posture against fraudulent transactions.
As part of the design and implementation effort, the junior cyber data science professional will participate in various aspects of the implementation, including synthesizing large scale system/communications logs, development of analytical machine learning data sets and models, and development of insider threat risk models to identify anomalous transactions.
The junior cyber data science professional will work closely with government personnel and other Noblis professionals in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Data Science expertise to the UBAC Insider Threat Team
- Develop Insider Threat Use Cases analytics using scripting and searches
- Execute Machine Learning Data Pipelines and scripting
- Develop Visualizations to meet the needs of the Government Client
- Conduct Data Exploration of new IRS data sets to meet the program needs
- Develop and Maintain Machine Learning Models and Model Performance Measures
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 0 to 3 years of experience
- Ability to Obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Apache Spark OR Python/R
Desired skills and knowledge:
- Experience in coding and development in languages such as Scala, Python, and R
- Familiar and fluent in Apache Spark (Scala or Python)
- Familiar with Anaconda / R Studio
- Familiar with R Markdown / Shiny Dashboarding
- Familiar with Data Science / ML lifecycle
- Familiar with using Machine Learning to solve problems in a variety of Algorithms (GLM, RF, XG Boost, Deep learning)

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
