Description
The Bartender mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons of the bar, lobby bar, and restaurant to ensure the Hotel’s high-quality standards are met. Provides service to all patrons sitting at the physical bar(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, sakes, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware, and garnishes.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all drink recipes, including required ingredients and preparation specifications.
- Maintain complete knowledge of characteristics and description of every wine by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items including daily specials, prices, preparation methods and timing, allergy warnings, etc. so patrons at the bar wishing to order food can confidently place their order with the Bartender.
- Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and dress code of the restaurant.
- Has complete knoeldge of Nobu Steps of Service.
- Understand and abide by all city, county, and state regulations regarding the service of alcohol, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Organize and set up bar area to ensure readiness prior to guest arrival. Clean and maintain station throughout shift. Complete all side duties as assigned.
- Greet guests and suggest wine or beverage options. Utilize upsell strategies when appropriate. Maintain positive guest relations and acknowledge all guests, even when busy.
- Enter bar orders on POS system and present checks to bar guests when they are ready to depart so payment can be collected.
- Provide restaurant servers with beverage orders in a timely manner.
Qualifications

- Able to prepare drinks according to recipe specifications including the proper usage of ingredients, mixing techniques, and serving glassware.
- Able to communicate in a positive and clear speaking voice, especially when the environment volume increases.
- Maintain excellent organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use reasonable judgement when making decisions that impact guest satisfaction.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- The ability to speak multiple languages is preferred, though not required.
- Meets legal age requirements for the position (21 )
- Must possess a valid Food Handler Card
