The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing a group of drivers to ensure complete route coverage, prompt and courteous customer service and safely operating his or her truck to provide complete fleet fueling for customers. Requirements of the job are inventory management, loading /unloading of the truck, customer service and safety. The Manager is crossed trained in all driving positions in the business unit.
What You Will Do
- Lead a group of drivers on a daily basis to ensure routes are being serviced in a timely manner.
- Assist in creating a team culture. Support and understands individual needs and challenges.
- Report down time or other concerns to appropriate management.
- Assist in planning and executing routes to maximize efficiency.
- Train new drivers and cross-train existing drivers.
- Manage added stops, customer changes, IT issues, light equipment issues, etc. with team.
- Communicate fleet status to Operations Managers and dayshift lead.
- Operate various commercial motor vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
- Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
- Safely maneuver trucks into loading and unloading areas.
- Verify load against shipping papers and accurately delivers required products as dispatched.
- Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted.
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
- Maintain proper physical condition of vehicle and equipment; reports problems areas to manager.
- Operate within all industry, OSHA, DOT and company safety rules and policies.
- Arrange commercial motor vehicle in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
- Receive shipments of materials while managing warehouse space.

What You Will Need
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in propane and fuel industry preferred.
- Class B License (minimum required) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.
- Current Medical Certification required.
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
- Ability to drive safely.
- Ability to manage and motivate others.
- Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
- Ability to plan delivery routes.
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
- Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals/fuels or fumes.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
