The team you will be a part of

As a member of Nokia Digital Office- Enterprise Compute & Cloud Services, you will be part of a team that is redefining IT and shaping the future of Nokia and our digital and data center optimization transformation. The Enterprise Compute & Cloud Services team ensures the stability, availability, and high performance of the infrastructure that serves Nokia's entire workforce and upholds the technology for almost every interaction of the company's business. You will be joining a team of highly skilled, enthusiastic, and passionate engineers working in this leading-edge and constantly changing space.

What you will learn and contribute to

As Data Center Engineering & Operations Lead, the candidate will steer a team of Data center service owners and regional data center managers. The team manages the data center operations and projects, working with HCL to deliver best-in-class service to our internal customers (Application owners, Business Groups teams, etc.)

As head of the team, your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Optimize Data Center assets and define and execute Data Center consolidation program, including EOSL remediation and modernization of on-prem computing capacity
• You will plan, design, and manage a portfolio of on-prem offerings and related costs, as well as maintain the service-related data in the service catalog and project-related data in project management tools and dashboards.
• Deliver infrastructure services such as computing capacity and data management solutions from own Data Centers and Co-Lo facilities to Nokia Enterprise Applications and the Enterprise Chief Data Office, as well as to the IT-hosted (business managed) solution owners.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of these Infrastructure services from strategy, design, operation, and remediate to decommissioning.
• Create and maintain a disaster recovery and business continuity plan for all on-prem services
• Collaborate with the IT security team to integrate security measures for all on-premises services.
• Implement automation and orchestration tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of on-premises services

Your skills and experience

You have:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, and hands-on technology experience in large enterprise environments.
• 10 years of IT support/operations and transformation experience, in addition to 5 years managing a team consisting of experts along and 3rd party service providers, and vendors
• Experience working with the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, networking, operating, and maintaining large software systems
• Experience in operating IaaS solutions such as Data Center management, computing, storage, monitoring, etc.
• Direct experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools, and techniques

It would be nice if you also had the following:

• General knowledge about OpenStack or VMWare as a virtualization platform
• Experience with industry frameworks and methodologies: ITIL/Agile/Scrum/DevOps/SRE as well as database technologies such as SQL and No-SQL
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, etc.) in addition to knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, subnets, VPCs)
• Experience building backend infrastructure and/or experiment and data analysis framework or web application development
