About Network Infrastructure
The mission of the Network Infrastructure (NI) Business Group is to be the most trusted partner for the world’s most critical network infrastructure. NI will respond to the ever-increasing demand for networks with higher capacity, greater reliability, faster speeds, and lower costs.
Production Planner/buyer
The purpose of the position is to provide focused execution of supply plans to maximize revenue and performance to Customer requested delivery dates. The position interfaces with Nokia vendors, contract manufactures, order fulfillment, demand planning, business unit management as well as various support functions involved in the production and procurement of Nokia products. In addition to meeting supply needs this role is responsible for meeting inventory objectives.
As the primary interface between order fulfillment and the factory & contract manufactures, compelling communication skills are critical to this function.
Coordinating tasks and managing cross-functional teams are also critical.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Review and action MRP output.
- Releasing purchase orders.
- Review and transmit production need dates and forecast to contract manufactures.
- Lead production meetings with suppliers to ensure production goals are obtained.
- Inventory management such as excess & obsolete review, PPV review, and review of contract manufactures third party purchasing practices.
- Resolve PO variances and three-way match audit issues.
- Summarize and report risk to production plans and formulate action plans to overt such risk.
- Manage impact on the demand plan from new product releases and engineering changes to existing products with properly executed phase in /phase out plans.
- Interface with order fulfillment to determine proper customer priorities and allocate supply appropriate to orders.
- Manage inventory to gross and net inventory target levels, turns and weeks of supply.
- Manage end of life planning phase out for products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Business.
- APIC’s a plus.
- 3 years production planning experience.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
- SAP
- Kinaxis Rapid Response (Control Tower)
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Access.
