Nolij Consulting has an opening for a Network Engineer to join our team based in Mclean, VA.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Must be able to provide configuration and maintenance of network and equipment  customers/users.
• Must be able to configure and maintain outside Domain Name System (DNS) server for name server resolution, active directory/domain controllers for authentication and internal DNS resolution, mail servers and spam filters for internal and external email communication, internal file servers attached to main SAN array for mass data storage and database server configurations.
• Must be able to configure and maintain the security of the routers, firewall and Layer 3 switches on the infrastructure backbone to comply with security requirements.
• Must be able to configure and maintain the Network Group Policies to comply security requirements.
• Must be able to manage server network connectivity on the backbone to ensure proper and efficient communication with clients either internal or remote to the network.
• Must be able to maintain all CISCO routers and switches to the latest appropriate Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and ensure proper operation of each system and the infrastructure as a whole.
• Must be able to set up and maintain or delete Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) for proper network traffic separation on backbone and ensure all packets go through the router and firewall Access Control Lists (ACL) for filtering and logging.
• Must be able to monitor logs for all network devices onto a syslog server.
• Must be able to maintain network infrastructure drawings using MS Visio, create new drawings for projects and document changes to overall system.
• Must be able to configure and maintain the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for the infrastructure.
• Must be able to configure and maintain the web proxy system for outbound traffic monitoring.
• Must be able to monitor emerging technologies and recommend solutions that will enhance the network.
• Must be able to maintain Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM) document for any network equipment.
• Must be able to provide COOP network support to include monitor equipment at remote COOP location and make technical changes as needed.
• Must be able to meet with Configuration Control Board (CCB) to report infrastructure requirements, changes, and status.
• Must be able to provide draft documentation for security audits and training of the IM/IT team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in related field

Education:

• BS/BA degree in a related area (or equivalent).

Clearance Level requirements: Secret

Note: Since this position is for a Federal Project, a candidate must possess US Citizenship to obtain Clearance.
