Nomura's Distressed Finance group, situated within Global Markets, specializes in US distressed lending opportunities (in particular specializing in US bankruptcy situations) using Nomura's proprietary balance sheet capital.
Responsibilities
Distressed Finance is seeking an analyst to support the desk on analytics, including tracking distressed companies, analysing balance sheet/ capital structures, valuation/ comps, and modelling. The position would offer candidate entrepreneurial role with direct access to the MD and unique opportunity to be exposed to credit investment situations (ie, the Analyst would have the chance to learn skills normally reserved for Associates/ VP level), including direct client access, investment analysis (more akin to buy-side than sell-side), risk/ reward thought process, etc.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate would have ~1 year experience in Investment Banking, private credit, or buy-side credit hedge fund.
- Knowledge of accounting (3-statements) and expertise with Excel modeling is a must.
- Ideal candidate would also have familiarity working with leveraged/ high yield credit and be comfortable with LBO modeling and putting together client materials in PPT
