Level II CR/NDE Technician

Description

The CR/NDE Technician will be responsible for the following actions/tasks:

• Perform Nondestructive Testing when necessary to ensure quality services are completed;
• Provide non-destructive examination in the following methods:
  1. Radiographic Examination;
  2. Liquid Penetrant Examination;
  3. Magnetic Particle Examination;
  4. Ultrasonic Thickness measurements; and,
  5. Positive Material Identification testing.
• Perform Level II CR inspections and other NDE inspections as specified with the Company's procedures;
• Operate and maintain Computed Radiography equipment, software, and hardware as per company requirements and manufacturers recommendations;
• Establish and calibrate testing equipment and materials;
• Calculate, establish, and control the radiation area;
• Evaluate and interpret product results to the code of construction or customer specifications;
• Other assignments necessarily needed by the Company.

Required Qualification(s)

• High School Diploma, G.E.D.
• Valid U.S. drivers license and able to pass an MVR evaluation.
• Valid TWIC TSA background identification card.
• Able to pass Fit for Duty Testing and Drug/Alcohol policies/procedures.
• Valid State Radiographers card or IRRSP card;
• A minimum of 80 hours of documented Radiography Level I and II training;
• A minimum of 40 hours of documented Computed Radiography training;
• 16 hours of documented CR Software/Hardware training (GE/Waygate or VMI preferred);
• Familiar with applicable welding codes, i.e., ASME, API, AWS, etc.;
• SNT-TC-1A Level II certifications in Ultrasonic Thickness A-scan Certification, Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Testing.
• Positive Material Identification Certification with using the XRF and OES/LIBS equipment.

Required Experience

• List of Computed Radiography & NDE projects completed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Nondestructive Testing industry credentials and certifications per CP-189 or SNT-TC1A written training and certification programs;
• Strong Petrochemical/Refinery experience;
• ASNT or ACCP credentials and certifications; and,
• Additional credentials or certifications from other inspection organizations.
