Description
The CR/NDE Technician will be responsible for the following actions/tasks:
Perform Nondestructive Testing when necessary to ensure quality services are completed;
Provide non-destructive examination in the following methods:
Radiographic Examination;
Liquid Penetrant Examination;
Magnetic Particle Examination;
Ultrasonic Thickness measurements; and,
Positive Material Identification testing.
Perform Level II CR inspections and other NDE inspections as specified with the Company's procedures;
Operate and maintain Computed Radiography equipment, software, and hardware as per company requirements and manufacturers recommendations;
Establish and calibrate testing equipment and materials;
Calculate, establish, and control the radiation area;
Evaluate and interpret product results to the code of construction or customer specifications;
Other assignments necessarily needed by the Company.
Required Qualification(s)
High School Diploma, G.E.D.
Valid U.S. drivers license and able to pass an MVR evaluation.
Valid TWIC TSA background identification card.
Able to pass Fit for Duty Testing and Drug/Alcohol policies/procedures.
Valid State Radiographers card or IRRSP card;
A minimum of 80 hours of documented Radiography Level I and II training;
A minimum of 40 hours of documented Computed Radiography training;
16 hours of documented CR Software/Hardware training (GE/Waygate or VMI preferred);
Familiar with applicable welding codes, i.e., ASME, API, AWS, etc.;
SNT-TC-1A Level II certifications in Ultrasonic Thickness A-scan Certification, Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Testing.
Positive Material Identification Certification with using the XRF and OES/LIBS equipment.
Required Experience
List of Computed Radiography & NDE projects completed.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Nondestructive Testing industry credentials and certifications per CP-189 or SNT-TC1A written training and certification programs;
Strong Petrochemical/Refinery experience;
ASNT or ACCP credentials and certifications; and,
Additional credentials or certifications from other inspection organizations.
