Applies basic and some advanced technical skills and knowledge to receive, store, issue and record hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment to support production requirements.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks that are simple to moderately complex requiring some skill, experience and judgment to complete. Works under close to general supervision and determines plans and actions from standard procedural alternatives.
  • Tracks tooling on inventory management and ERP systems. Tracks tools as they come out of use then determines if they need to be routed to another area for scheduled usage or put into storage.
  • Receives, stores and issues tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, measuring devices and other like items used in the production process. Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Assists leads with special projects or requests and serves as back up in their absence. Requires work on the inventory management and ERP systems.
  • Takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock. Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment. Reports damaged, worn out or missing tools and equipment by entering transactions and validating information in the appropriate database.
  • Presets tools to specified setting and otherwise sets up tools for use by production stakeholders. Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors. Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on tools. May sharpen drill bits and other cutting tools as required.
  • Ensures that all items requiring calibration are checked and calibrated per schedule or otherwise as required.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory. Delivers tools or equipment to workers. Marks and identifies tools and equipment. Disposes of obsolete or surplus tools and equipment in accordance with established procedure.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum Vocational / Technical.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

2 year(s) Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required dependent upon driving duties assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Communicates effectively in written, verbal and electronic forms with internal and external personnel.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competency in the use of standard and specialized software applications.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can vary from loud to a more moderate level.

  • Work is reviewed for completion to quality standards and schedule requirements.
  • May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
