Job Title: SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Shift Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:00PM, Monday through Friday
Starting Rate: $24.03 PER HOUR / $50,000.00 ANNUAL

JOB SUMMARY: As a Social Media Specialist at Norfolk Airport Authority, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to enhance our brand awareness, engage our audience, and drive business objectives. You will play a crucial role in managing our social media channels, creating compelling content, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize our online presence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Social Media Strategy: Increase brand visibility, reputation and engagement.
- Content Creation: Create high-quality, engaging, and shareable content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to text, images, and videos.
- Platform Management: Manage and optimize company profiles on major social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Community Engagement: Foster and maintain relationships with the online community, respond to comments, messages, and mentions, and actively participate in relevant conversations.
- Campaign Development: Plan and execute social media campaigns to support product launches, promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media analytics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular reports to assess the effectiveness of social media efforts. Use insights to make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Stay Updated: Stay informed about industry trends, social media best practices, and emerging platforms to continuously improve the company's social media presence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends.
- Proficient in content creation tools and social media management platforms.
- Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative ideas for content and campaigns.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.
