What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Siding Carpenter (Waterproofing) position at Norhart?

As a Siding Carpenter, you play an integral role in creating quality apartments for our residents to call home for years to come. You will work with our team in new construction, building apartments from the ground up. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, detail-oriented, and communicate effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
General
- Perform waterproofing duties, including siding carpentry
- Set and/or frame floor and roof trusses
- Layout walls & build stairs
- Erect temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
- Assist equipment operator, and other skilled labor when necessary
- Ensure team has secured job site, tools, and materials at end of each day
- Stay current on safety standards and procedures, communicate to team, & ensure compliance
Experience
- Proficient in using tools such as saws, sanders, drills, planers, etc.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds as needed
- Comfortable with ladders & heights
- Be familiar/good understanding on E.I.F.S. (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems).
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with proper insurance
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
