What are the responsibilities and job description for the Perioperative Assistant - FT - Days - Porter position at Norman Regional Health System?
We have operating rooms located at the Porter campus and the HealthPlex campus. The Porter campus has 10 operating rooms with services ranging from urology, general, neurology, and bariatrics. The Health Plex campus has 6 operating rooms in the main OR with services of orthopedics, general, and ENT, 1 hybrid room for cardiac cases, and 3 operating rooms for GYN and Robotic cases. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills. We orient new nurses to all of our surgical areas by providing a 16 week orientation with a dedicated preceptor in which nurses learn how to circulate cases in all of our service lines. Job Summary
- Assigned duties by the Coordinator/Charge Nurse.
- Cleans OR suites after cases are completed.
- Maintains a safe and aseptic environment in the assigned area or department.
- Transports patients.
- Gives basic patient care.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Schedule
- 0830-1800 Monday-Friday
Licensure / Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
Compensation / Benefits
- $10.04 -$16.40 depending on previous work experience.
- Evening differential $1.50/hr.
- Night differential $1.75/hr.
- Weekend differential $1.75/hr.
