Compensation / Benefits
$21.15-$34.55/hr. based on previous work experience.
Evening differential $1.10/hr.
Night differential $1.25/hr.
Weekend differential $1.25/hr.

Our Sterile Processing Department is a fast paced, team oriented, quality driven team consisting of 22 members, with experience ranging from 6 months to 37 years. The types of procedures performed in our health system include cardiology, orthopedics, dental, endocrine, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, robotics, gynecology, labor and delivery, neurology urology, and bariatrics. As a team, we process between 2500 and 15,000 instruments per day. Our processing technicians demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, critical thinking skills and recognize the importance of their role as a key component to our health systems commitment to our patients and the need for quality work. Job Summary
Responsible for the daily operations of the Central Supply and Sterile Processing Department, including decontamination, inspection, preparation, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution of surgical instruments, procedure totes/carts and bedside durable equipment.
Proficient in infection prevention principles and practices and demonstrates a thorough understanding of applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.
Able to work independently and possesses critical thinking/assessment skills to be able to interpret quality testing results, plan/prioritize workload to accommodate instrument and equipment needs and to troubleshoot issues that arise.
Coaches and mentors other team members in providing optimal CSSPD services.
Qualifications
Education
High school education or equivalent GED.
Associates degree or beyond in a related field (i.e. Surgical Technology, Supply Chain Management etc) is preferred.
Experience
Two years minimum of recent Central Supply, Sterile Processing, and/or Surgical Services experience required.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification
Must have CRCST or CSPDT certification or obtain the credential within 9 months of accepting the position.
Preferred candidates will also have achieved the CHL or CSPM credential.
Surgical Techs with the the CST credential and appropriate combination of experience may be considered.
Other Skills / Knowledge/Abilities:
Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook.
Has experience working with Instrument Tracking Systems.
