Normandeau Associates, Inc., one of the nation’s largest science-based environmental consulting firms, is seeking an Environmental Data Analyst / Marine Scientist for the Bedford, NH office. This position will assist with the management and analyses of ecological data collected from field programs related to environmental permitting or monitoring programs.
A successful candidate will work independently and with project scientists to develop sampling designs, perform statistical and spatial analysis of biological, physical, and other environmental data, develop and manage project-specific databases, and facilitate quality control and quality assurance of these data.
An ideal candidate will have formal training and experience in both applied statistics and marine ecology. This position will require programming experience using software such as SAS, R, or MATLAB (and a willingness to learn other program languages) to describe patterns in biological, physical, and environmental data and test hypotheses.
Minimum qualifications for consideration will include:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, or Biostatistics with supporting formal training in Marine Science, Fisheries Science, and/or Ecology.
OR
· Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Science, Fisheries Science, or Aquatic Ecology (or related field) with supporting formal training in Applied Statistics, Data Science, and/or Biostatistics.
· Advanced degree preferred.
· Effective and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
