Successfully leads Plattsburgh Mechatronics Engineering and Calibration departments in development of RPD® technology, equipment, and process knowledge to sustain and improve machine capability to achieve continuous
RPD® per approved requirements with high quality and efficient capacity.
In a Typical Day, Your Expertise
- Provides technical support to Operations to maintain RPD® machines uptime and availability
- Provides management, prioritization of tasks, and technical support to Calibration team as necessary to maintain machines in calibration and ready for production.
- Leads Electrical, Mechanical and Control systems troubleshooting and root cause/corrective action on
- RPD® machines
- Provides operations and calibration technicians with training on machine function and operational changes to RPD® machines
- Documents and reviews RPD® machine-performance for reliability, functionality, safety, and
- optimization
- Provides feedback to RPD® TEC on machine performance, recurring issues, improvements
- suggestions, etc.
- Develops and supports Engineering Change Requests in coordination with RPD® -TEC
- Responsible for maintaining and updating RPD® machine configurations following the configuration management process
- Leads RPD® Machine startups, including receiving machine shipments, installations and site acceptance testing following internal processes and procedures
- Reviews and proposes changes to Maintenance, Calibration and Machine Qualification processes documentation for accuracy, optimization, and performance
- Provides cross-functional Production Engineering subject matter expertise of RPD® machines
- Provides training and development for junior Mechatronics Engineers; manages workloads and assigns work as appropriate for the role
- Assumes responsibility for project and people management, including the technical assessment of all assigned projects; leads the team to deliver key programs or projects per associated quality, time and cost constraints
- Provides strategic direction and guides the team in complex or difficult situations, removes obstacles, assigns appropriate resources and interfaces with other functions to assist with issue resolution
- Provides effective leadership and guidance to the Mechatronics Engineering and Calibration functions, leading initiatives to address the team's performance; activity planning; recruitment, retention and succession planning; headcount needs and scheduling; employee engagement and satisfaction; etc.
- Monitors department activities for productivity and expense controls; assists with proposal and management of Mechatronics Engineering and Calibration department budget, creating business cases as necessary for the procurement of additional tools and resources
- Plans and performs improvements to increase profitability, competitiveness, reliability, quality, safety, etc.
- Adheres to and promotes applicable Policies, Procedures, Safety Rules & Regulations and Security Guidelines
- Other duties and responsibilities as required for the successful operation of business

We're Thrilled To Find Candidates With
- BS or MS in engineering in Electrical, Controls or Mechanical
- 5 years' Mechatronics Engineering or related experience preferred with a focus on
- industrial controls, 2 years' proven leadership experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of integrated electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work with a multicultural, international, and cross functional team and lead projects
- Fluent mastery of English language
