- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Housekeeping/Laundry Department,
- Assist the housekeeping/laundry staff in the development and use of departmental policies,
- Make reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary concerning the operation of
- Inspect storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
- Develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a copy of
- Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies,
- Determine departmental staffing requirements necessary to meet the department's needs.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of departmental personnel.
- Review competence of departmental personnel and make necessary corrections as required or
- Counsel/discipline personnel as requested or as necessary.
- Make rounds to assure staff are performing duties & to assure that the department meets the
- Conduct departmental performance evaluations in accordance with the facility's policies and
- Maintain relationships with other supervisors & coordinate to assure services are performed
Qualifications:
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma.
- Training in environmental control practices and procedures preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors,
- Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping/laundry practices and procedures & the laws,
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, & be willing to handle residents
