We are actively seeking compassionate individuals to join our team, providing daily living support to adult males with Developmental Disabilities / Intellectual Disabilities (DD / IS) in both residential group homes and individual apartment settings.

Responsibilities for a Successful Direct Support Professional :

• Assess client skill levels and provide counseling in areas such as independent living, coping strategies, and pro-social behaviors by following the behavior support plans
• High School diploma / GED required
• Experience with DD / MR population required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Offer guidance on interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and navigating peer pressure
• Set and maintain appropriate boundaries while demonstrating strong interpersonal and professional skills
• Serve as a positive role model both within the community and internally
• Provide safe transportation for clients as needed
• Prepare and serve meals, assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) daily
• Document interactions and behavioral observations at the end of each shift
• Perform crisis prevention, de-escalation techniques, and physical management as needed and permitted

• Milton House Waterbury Sunday-Tuesday 3rd shift
• Thomaston House Thomaston Thursday-Saturday 2nd Shift
• Per-diem positions

Salary : $18.00 non-med-cert / $20.00 med certified per hour
