Cleveland County, North Carolina (est. Pop. 101,000), Is Nestled At The Base Of The Blue Ridge Mountains Just 45 Minutes West Of Charlotte. Encompassing 468 Square Miles, The County Has 15 Municipalities With The City Of Shelby Serving As Its County Seat. The County Is Seeking A Finance Director To Perform Complex Executive Work Planning, Organizing, And Directing The Financial Activities Of The County, And Related Work As Apparent Or Assigned. The Finance Director Directly Supervises The Assistant Finance Director And Central Collections Supervisor And Oversees A Staff Of 12 Employees. This Position Requires A Bachelor’s Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field And Six (6) Or More Years’ Experience With Government Accounting And Public Finance; Or Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience. Master's Degree Preferred. Certified Local Government Finance Officer (GFOA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), And General Governmental Finance And Fiscal Policy Training Is Highly Preferred. The Anticipated Starting Salary For This Position Will Be $121,924 – $150,060.
