QUALIFICATIONS:
- Iowa Teaching license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Three Years Teaching Experience
- Iowa Administrator Certification (preferred)
- Iowa Teacher Evaluation Certification (preferred)
- Such alternatives to, or combination of, the above as the District may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: Assist with the supervision of building support staff as directed by the building principal
JOB GOALS:
learn about and support the leadership of the school building, as well as assist with the implementation of changes that move the junior high school to a middle school model in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE AND LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a member of the building leadership team; however, Fellows are not administrators
- Assist in the overall operations of the school
- Support the research, development, planning and implementation of practices that transition the junior high to a new middle school model
- Assist in maintaining appropriate student behavior at school and at school related activities
- Perform such record keeping and reporting functions as the principal may direct
- Assist in the development of in-service and staff development programs
- Assist in promoting a positive public image of the school within the community
- Support the principal in providing leadership in curriculum evaluation and development
- Assist in the supervision and evaluation of support personnel
- Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with other staff members to investigate and follow up on student absenteeism
- Supervise and attend extra / co-curricular activities and events as directed
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The administrator fellowship is a one year contract consisting of 210 work days per year, compensation is $90,000 per year (may be adjusted for second year), Employees will retain rights to a teaching position at the end of the one year fellowship period and will not lose pace on the salary scale.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
