Barn assistant

Position Information

This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.

The NDSU Equine Center is looking for motivated individuals to help assist with various duties during the summer and fall semesters.

Position Information :

• Daily chores include but are not limited to : Feed grain & hay rations; Clean & Re-bed Stalls; Handle Horses
• Weekly facility maintenance : leveling stalls, grooming arena, mowing lawn, maintenance of equipment, and general cleaning of facilities
• Must be willing to work weekends and potential holidays
• No previous horse or equipment experience necessary
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Good communication skills;
• Ability to work as a team and independently;
• Ability to operate in a safe, efficient manner;
• Experience operating equipment is a plus
• Maintain pen conditions including hauling manure, ground leveling, and snow removal

Duration : Part-time employment during 2024 summer; 20024-2025 school year.

Hours : flexible hours ranging 10-20 hours a week.

Salary : $13 per hour dependent upon experience.
