Veterinary Assistant

North Hills Animal Hospital is in search of an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Fear Free certification is a big plus! We pride ourselves on gentle and minimal restraint practices.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position. The Veterinary Assistant will work collaboratively on our team to deliver exceptional care to our patients!

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred.
• Proficient in animal handling, basic medical procedures, and veterinary terminology.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to animal care.
• Ability to lift and restrain animals safely and effectively; Fear Free Certification is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely

Responsibilities:

• Gentle animal handling and restraint
• Pharmacy duties
• Drug calculations
• Anesthesia induction
• Surgery assistance and anesthetic monitoring
• Dental prophylaxis and radiographs
• Blood draws and IV catheter placement
• SQ/IM Injections and medication administration
• Microscopic evaluation - setting up blood smears, fecal cytology, ear cytology, skin cytology
• Outpatient procedures

Full-time benefits:
