Certified Teacher
We are looking for committed Teachers to provide supplemental academic support and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and youth, and will possess the ability to instill excitement about learning and willingness connect with students and develop relationships of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in their academic growth.
Responsibilities
- Summer camp curriculum given and implemented throughout the 5 week program
- Assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas.
- Provides individualized instruction and promotes interactive learning.
- Establishes and maintains positive rapport with students and their families.
- Assists with daily activities according to schedule.
- Acts as a mentor and positive role model for vulnerable students.
- Helps organize educational, recreational and special events/activities designed for the benefit of students.
- Helps develop enrichment activities and discussion topics for pre-teens/teens.
- Effectively utilizes incentives to encourage leadership and personal performance in students (especially teens).
- Fosters student development of positive attitudes toward learning and studying.
- Observes and understands students’ behavior and reports suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc.
- Helps implement program cooperative projects.
- Provides troubleshooting assistance for Learning Center tools, such as the computer lab.
Skills
- Proven experience as a teacher
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures

- Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $28.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
COVID-19 considerations:
Students are masked and distanced through the duration of the program every day.
