Descriptive Summary
Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall operations, development and success of the clinical support staff and lab operations. Manages the complex business aspects that come along with running a dynamic, efficient, and knowledgeable team all while delivering excellent patient care. Healthcare professional with a business background who use their specialized skills to handle the daily elements of office management and financial goals. This may require wearing a number of different hats to ensure that the medical practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
This Nurse Manager is an information resource and ambassador to patients, the clinical support staff, providers, and other managers. Works to better meet the needs of the patients, local community, and North Idaho Dermatology.
Performance Objectives:
- Analyzes and develops resources and methods to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operational performance and quality of patient care.
- Develops and foster effective collaboration between departments and providers to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the organization’s clinical objectives.
- Execution of annual budget, establishing productivity and revenue benchmarks, analyzing/revising inventory, staffing and maintaining controls on expenses.
- Creating educational programs to improve patient care and ensure the staff is educated on the latest medical techniques and pharmaceutical infirmities.
- Develop, promote, and ensure communication processes are in place so the flow of information is congruent and consistent to maintain efficiency of operations with the nursing team.
- Manage recruitment and orientation of new staff.
- Ensure department is staffed and scheduled to practice expectations.
- Invest in team members growth by providing performance evaluations on a regular basis.
- Consistently promote the betterment of staff and patient well-being and satisfaction.
- Performs all duties and services in full compliance with North Idaho Dermatology Core Values.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.
Position Requirements
- RN or BSN licensed by the Idaho Board of Nursing OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure.
- Must possess excellent leadership skills which include broad supervisory and administrative experience and skills.
- Proficiency with the EMA EMR system and other software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and leadership qualities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow-up/follow-through.
- Must be results and detail oriented with a focus on the highest level of quality, both with staff and providers and with patients.
- Essential requirement to understand and be able to balance the clinical and business aspects of operations.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position.
- Obtain Derm Tech certification within 90 days of employment (funded by employer)
