Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Teacher at NLRMS, grades 7-8:
This position allows for the following Project Lead the Way courses: Medical Detectives, Flight and Space, Robotics: Design and Modeling, Robotics: Automation and Robotics. These courses offer project based learning opportunities to students that enhance student engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through these courses, the district is also be able to offer a robotics as an extracurricular activity for students who want to participate in robotics competitions.
Requirements are a valid Arkansas Teacher's License with certification in Math 4-8, 7-12 and Science 4-8, 7-12 and training in PLTW, Arkansas Highly Qualified Teacher status, successful completion of Teacher Excellence Support System professional development, and ability and willingness to use current and future technologies for instruction and support. Responsibilities include but are not limited to instructing students in one or more subjects at the high school level designated according to state licensure/ certification and subject matter as assigned by the building Principal. 190-day contract with fringe benefit package.
