What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Server position at North Oaks Communities?

If so, consider applying as a full time Lead Server in our main dining room during the week. The Lead Server is responsible for assisting the Dining Room Manager with the coordination of the following: seating, appearance and maintenance of the dining area, ensuring that courteous and efficient table service is occurring, assembling and delivering to-go trays and assisting with on the job training of service staff.
Essential Duties:
1. Maintains the physical appearance of the dining room area, including but not limited to dining room carpets, table place settings, linens and wiping down chairs, tables, and base boards.
2. Compiles room delivery orders, fills orders accurately and delivers orders to residents in a timely fashion.
3. Assists Dining Room Manager with on-the-job training for dining room staff including but not limited to service standards, workplace safety & procedures, local health code standards and safe food handling, as well as hospitality promises.
4. Notifies the Dining Room Manager, Dining Room Supervisor or Food and Beverage Director of any maintenance required in the dining areas
5. Coordinates station assignments, records reservations, takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
6. Conducts pre-meal meeting with wait staff
7. Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient and courteous manner
8. Answers pertinent questions about menu items
9. Coordinates set-up & breakdown of functions and ensure efficient operation of functions.
10. Maintains a high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene as detailed in the Uniform Dress Code Policy and enforces the departmental Dress Code Policy.
Other Duties:
1. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests.
2. Opens the dining room according to pre-set standards.
3. Assists in closing the dining room according to pre-set standards.
4. Assists in the implementation of policy and procedures, training and overseeing servers.
5. Assists in completely setting the dining before resident diners arrive.
6. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.
7. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
8. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
9. HIPAA Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.
10. OIG Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.
11. Observes all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
2. Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred.
3. Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests
4. Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Works indoors and must be able to stand/walk 100% of the workday. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Must be able to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 100 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
